Rapper Lil Wayne (pictured) reportedly suffered an in-flight seizure on his private jet Thursday afternoon, which forced the aircraft’s pilot to make an emergency landing in Texas, according to TMZ.
Upon landing, Wayne, whose actual name is Dwight Michael Carter Jr., was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was treated for several hours then released. At press time, no further information has been disclosed about Young Weezy’s sudden illness, but sources close to him told TMZ that he is doing much better now.
The performer is currently in the throes of getting his 10th solo album,”I Am Not a Human Being II,” out, which has a release date of December. The album includes some collaborations with Kanye West, who reportedly contributed substantially to the upcoming work.
Wayne also joined with Dr. Dre as well on the album and claims he has worked on nearly 100 tracks with the legendary rapper, producer, songwriter, and mogul.
This latest public red flag comes on the heels of some legal woes that Wayne is at the center of involving filmmaker Quincy Jones III. Wayne is reportedly suing Jones III for songs that he allegedly took from “Tha Carter IV” album for his 2009 documentary on the rapper’s life entitled “The Carter.” Although Wayne did agree to allow Jones’ film crew to follow him, when he viewed the finished product, he reportedly found the footage appalling and referred to the finished product as a “scandalous portrayal.”
Jones, on the other hand, adamantly insists that he did not steal Wayne’s material and is demanding that the lawsuit be thrown out of court. He also wants the famed rapper to pay all of his attorney’s fees.
