Friends await Nwosu’s return to screen

Ngozi Nwosu

Colleagues, Facebook friends and fans of Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu,  have continued to offer support and prayer for her over the health challenges she currently has.
Dramatists close to her have for instance, been offering her moral support.
Though the exact nature of the disease is yet to be ascertained, it is said to be serious, with Nigerian Entertainment Today, among other reports, indicating that it is kidney-related.
Apart from the fact that the actress has not been visible at relevant events in recent times, some of her colleagues say they have not been able to reach her of late.
Also, a visit to the Facebook page of the actress who described herself as ‘‘I am real, funny, I love God and I love people. With me, what you see is what you get’’, showed that she last visited the page on August 1,  which was her birthday.
However, the inability of some people to get across to her may be due to what the Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, Faith Eboigbe,  described as advice from the actress’ doctor that she should avoid distraction.
She told our correspondent during a telephone chat on Monday that the practitioners have been identifying  with her and that she is recovering.
NET reports that the actress, who has played “Peace’, one of the troublesome wives of Chief Fuji (played by Kunle Bamtefa) for over 20 years in ‘Fuji House of Commotion,’ is suffering from a kidney disease.”
It further says, “Nwosu is now a frequent visitor at a private hospital in Lagos, but contrary to reports, is neither in need of a kidney transplant nor is she confined to a bed/wheelchair. A lot of papers have reported false stories, further tests are being awaited for now’, a very close source tells us.’’ Efforts to reach her were fruitless as she could not be reached on her phone.
Nwosu, who hails from Abia State, has featured in many films which confirmed her acting ingenuity.
She acted in the now famous ‘Living in Bondage’ which prominently shot her into limelight with her role as Ego. Besides, she took part in the rested soap opera; Ripples which many of its viewers will readily remember her role as Madam V-Boot.
